Goalkeeper Jens Lehmann returns for Stuttgart on Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt, the club said, after suspending him this week for an unathorised trip to Munich’s beer festival.

The 39-year-old missed Wednesday’s German Cup win against VfB Luebeck because he attended Okotberfest last weekend after his side’s defeat by Cologne.

The ex-Arsenal stopper managed to clear the air in a Thursday meeting with Stuttgart officials, explaining that the Munich visit was a long-scheduled charity event and that he drank only a shandy and water.

Lehmann had been at fault in Stuttgart’s 2-0 league defeat to Cologne just hours before he went to the Oktoberfest.
