Former Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann says Cologne striker Lukas Podolski has what it takes to succeed at Arsenal.
Germany international Podolski is widely expected to join English Premier League club Arsenal at the end of the season.
Lehmann played for the north London club from 2003 until 2008, and made a brief return in 2011.
He has every confidence in Podolski’s considerable talents, but did warn the forward he will have to get used to the pace of the game in England.
“He is quick, dangerous in front of the goal, and has a good pass. I’m happy for him if he soon joins Arsenal,” Lehmann told Bild.
“It won’t be easy though. He will have to get used to the pace (in the Premier League). And he will have to realise that participating is not enough. You must win. Expectations are very high.”
Podolski, 26, has netted 17 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances this season.
