Leicester City are reportedly interested in bringing Habib Diallo from Metz to the King Power Stadium in January, but according to the Express, they will be facing competition from Newcastle United when they make their move.
The striker has scored seven goals in 11 appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season, and his terrific form has been attracting looks from around Europe, but Leicester were apparently the first club to register an interest in his services in England. However, it seems the Magpies seem keen on the 24-year-old as well. Leicester arguably represent a more attractive destination at the moment, given their current form, and paying the £7 million Metz apparently want for Diallo wouldn’t be a problem with the £80 million they earned through the sale of Harry Maguire this summer already on their account. But Newcastle entering the race would likely drive the price of the transfer up, throwing somewhat of a spanner into the works for the Foxes.
