Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says he hopes the club will be able to do some transfer business this winter as they find themselves disappointingly close to the bottom of the Premier League table. The Foxes are currently 17th with 11 points from 12 matches, and only Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, all on nine points, have done worse so far.
“You’re constantly reviewing it,” Rodgers said in his pre-match press conference ahead of facing defending champions Manchester City on Saturday, in answer to a question about potential January dealings.
“I’ve got a meeting today with the recruitment team looking at January. It’s ongoing.
“There will be gossip around players, but that doesn’t concern me. Hopefully we can do some business in January.
“I’m hopeful we can. You can see the impact one player has made to our team, and if we had another four of those, that would help us. Let’s see if we can do anything in January.”
During the summer, Leicester signed centre-back Wout Faes, as well goalkeeper Alex Smithies, while centre-back Wesley Fofana and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel left the club.
