Leicester City are interested in signing Florian Thauvin from Marseille in the summer of 2021, according to Eurosport. It has been reported that the former Premier League champions are looking at the ex-Newcastle United winger as a potential replacement for Cengiz Under.
Under joined Leicester on loan from Italian club AS Roma in the summer of 2020. According to WhoScored, the Turkey international winger has made one start and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Foxes so far this season, providing two assists in the process. The 23-year-old has also made five starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Brendan Rodgers’s side so far this campaign, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
Leicester reportedly have the option to make Under’s loan deal permanent for £22 million, but manager Rodgers has decided not to keep the winger at the club beyond the end of the season. The Foxes are reportedly looking at Thuavin as a potential replacement. The 28-year-old struggled to make an impact in English football when he was at Newcastle United, but he is flourishing at Marseille.
