Premier League leaders Leicester City are close to securing the first signing of the January transfer window, according to Secolo XIX.
Namely, the Foxes have made a move on Sampdoria defender Pedro Pereira and are widely expected to wrap up the deal worth close to €10 million.
The 17-year-old only joined the Blucerchiati from Benfica last summer, but he quickly managed to prove his worth in Italian Serie A.
And the right-back has clearly done enough to catch the eye of Leicester City scouts in eight league appearances this season.
Having climbed to the Premier League summit, the Foxes have no intention to cashing in on key men Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, but rather plan to reinforce the squad over the winter.
As a result, they might just be able to mount a serious title challenge in arguably world’s strongest league and they are 11/1 chance to go all the way.
