Portuguese media outlet A Bola has learned that Leicester City are stepping up their efforts to sign Algerian striker Islam Slimani from Sporting CP.
The Foxes look set to stay without top scorer Jamie Vardy, who is negotiating personal terms with Arsenal after the Gunners matched his release clause.
As a result, Leicester City have decided to try and recruit Islam Slimani as his replacement, although securing his signature will be no easy task.
According to A Bola, the Foxes will start the bidding at €20 million, but the Lions have made it clear that €30 million was their asking price.
And with Tottenham Hotspur also in the chase, Leicester City will have to make an effort if they want to sign one of world’s in-form forwards.
Islam Slimani, 27, has been in stunning form this season, making 33 league appearances and scoring no fewer than 27 goals in the process.
