Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has confirmed the King Power Stadium club have rejected a bid from Serie A giants AS Roma for winger Riyad Mahrez.
Giallorossi are said to have made an offer for the Foxes star man that has been of insufficient value, but the Italians could return for the 26-year-old with an improved offer.
Leicester City are currently in Hong Kong for a pre-season tournament but wantaway Algeria international could very much leave the club in coming weeks after being promised he would be allowed to pack his bags after the 2016/17 season.
Mahrez has been valued at £50 million which is said to be a price too steep for the Italian giants so it remains to be seen if a compromise could be reached.
Riyad Mahrez is in no shortage of interest from Europe’s biggest clubs with Arsenal also believed to be keen on the 2016 PFA Player of the Year who made 48 appearances for Foxes last season.
Mahrez scored ten goals and provided seven assists as well.
