Premier League outfit Leicester City are close to signing Swiss midfielder Gokhan Inler from Napoli, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
The Foxes were unable to persuade former Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso to extend his stay, but they did well to all but secure the signature of another Serie A star.
According to the latest reports, Napoli hotshot Gokhan Inler will be joining Leicester City in a €6 million deal.
The Switzerland international also had an offer from Besiktas, but he could not resist the lure of English Premier League.
Gokhan Inler spent the majority of his career in Italian Serie A, representing Udinese and Napoli and making 259 appearances in Italy’s to flight, scoring 15 goals.
The 31-year-old, however, lost his place in the starting line-up at Stadio San Paolo in the second part of last season and the Azzurri officials felt this was a good time to cash in on his services.
