Leicester close on Rod Fanni; QPR to bid for Mevlut Erding

hot-transfer-newsLeicester close on Rod Fanni

France Football is reporting that Premier League newcomers Leicester City are on the verge of signing French defender Rod Fanni from Marseille.

Despite having another year on his deal at Stade Velodrome, the former France international is not in the first team plans of new boss Marcelo Bielsa.

He is, therefore, widely tipped to leave the club this summer, and the latest reports suggest Fanni is set to join Leicester City.

The two clubs seem to have agreed on a transfer fee as the 32-year-old is expected to undergo a medical on Monday before signing for the Foxes.

Rod Fanni joined Marseille from Rennes in January 2011 and has since featured in 103 Ligue 1 matches for OM.

The right-sided defender is also capable of playing as a centre-back and he currently has 5 France caps to his name.

QPR to bid for Mevlut Erding

Queens Park Rangers are readying summer bid for Saint Etienne striker Mevlut Erding, according to Sky Sports.

The Rangers are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements as they expect star player Loic Remy to leave, and they are hot on the trail of the Turkish forward.

With the 27-year-old likely to be available for £7 million, the newly-promoted side are expected to submit an official proposal in the coming days.

Football agent Willie McKay has moved to confirm that QPR are showing interest in Mevlut Erding.

“Erding is probably one of the most in-form strikers in Europe having scored three goals in the opening two games after ending last season in prolific form,” McKay told Sky Sports.

“I am not surprised that he is attracting interest from a number of clubs and QPR are one club who have expressed an interest.

“Erding is available for around £7million and at the age of 27 he could prove to be a real bargain for someone in the Premier League as I am sure he would score goals in England.”

After losing their opening fixture against Hull City, Harry Redknapp’s charges are 7/4 to get relegated from the Premier League.

Benfica eyeing Andreas Samaris

Benfica are set to launch an assault on Olympiakos midfielder Andreas Samaris, reports A Bola.

The Eagles have been surprisingly quiet in the summer transfer window, but with star player Enzo Perez nearing a switch to Valencia, they are ready to make a move on the Greek starlet.

Benfica coach Jorge Jesus is reportedly a big fan of the player and he hopes to lure him to Estadio da Luz before the summer transfer window closes.

A Bola has learned that Samaris is open to the possibility of joining the Eagles and he should be available for €5 million.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a very successful debut season with Olympiakos having scored 4 goals and produced 5 assists in 28 league matches after arriving from Panionios.

He in turn made two appearances for Greece at the 2014 World Cup and opened the scoring in the crucial win over Ivory Coast.
