Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Leicester City are closing in on Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel.
The Frenchman caught the eye of top Italian and English clubs with some scintillating showings last season, and he is almost certain to leave for greener pastures this summer.
Sassuolo have so far rejected several decent bids for his services, but it would appear as though they have received an offer that satisfies their demands.
Namely, Leicester City’s latest proposal is very close to the Neroverdi’s €20 million valuation, meaning the Foxes stand a good chance of having their bid accepted.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton are closely monitoring the situation and they could come forward with official offers as well.
Gregoire Defrel was in excellent form last season, scoring 12 goals in 29 Serie A appearances.
