Premier League newcomers Leicester City have submitted a new proposal for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, reports O Jogo.
The Foxes have had several bids rejected for the Algeria star, but they have now returned with a new offer.
While the fixed amount remains €6.5 million, Leicester have increased the figure that depends on performance related bonuses to €1.5 million, meaning the total offer now stands at €8 million.
Sporting Lisbon chairman Bruno de Carvalho has been unhappy with the player’s behaviour and ordered him to train with the reserve squad, but chances are he will sanction the deal that should see the forward move to King Power Stadium.
Leicester have earlier reinforced their ranks with Leonardo Ulloa and Marc Albrighton, but they are desperate to make Islam Slimani their marque signing of the summer.
The Foxes, nonetheless, face an uphill task of avoiding relegation from the Premier League, as witnessed by odds of 9/4 offered on Leicester to be relegated.
