Former Premier League champions Leicester City have a decent record of finding hidden gems from France. N’Golo Kante anyone? Well this time they’ve gone for a forward in the form of Fousseni Diabate, signed from Ligue 2 side Gazelec Ajaccio, according to Sky Sports.
The Mali striker is fairly versatile, capable of playing as a winger on either side, and has made 20 appearances so far this season. At just 22-years of age Diabate also has a lot of room for growth, and will likely be a long-term project for manager Claud Puel, with reports suggesting that he will first have to prove himself in Leicester’s under-23 team.
The Foxes currently sit eight in the Premier League table, and seem to be locked in a battle with Burnley for seventh spot and a potential Europa League spot. They currently trail the Clarets by three points, but do look set to lose Ahmed Musa in this transfer window.
