Leicester manager Claude Puel is ready to offload several players as he believes his squad is too big at the moment, according to the Mirror.
Midfielder Andy King and defender Yohan Benalouane haven’t played at all this season and are available for sale in January, and the Foxes will likely be open to offers for fullback Danny Simpson and striker Shinji Okazaki, as both of their contracts expire in the summer of 2019. Midfielder Adrien Silva, who has been stuck in limbo for months due to his failed summer transfer, could easily be on the way out as well.
Puel says the squad needs to be reduced so that some players could get enough game-time, thus enabling the positive attitude and good mentality to be maintained. He added that the team is now fully focused on the task ahead – the rest of December and its jam-packed schedule, and after that, the futures of some players will be discussed.
It seems that for Leicester, several heroes from the 2015/16 title-winning season have reached the end of the road.
