Leicester City are keen on keeping Ben Chilwell in their ranks past this summer, according to The Telegraph.
The 23-year-old left-back has lately been heavily linked with Chelsea, who have reportedly given high priority to their pursuit of his services. They’ve already secured the signature of Hakim Ziyech, set to arrive to Stamford Bridge on July 1st, and they’re very close now to finalizing the deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner. Chilwell would apparently be the final piece of the puzzle for manager Frank Lampard’s plans.
However, just like Chelsea, Leicester have made notable progress this term too and seem on the verge of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, and they are extremely reluctant to part ways with one of the key members of the starting XI under Brendan Rodgers.
It is believed they would be willing to discuss a deal, but only if the offer presented isn’t any shorter than the fee of over £80 million they received when they sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United last summer.
