According to a recent report from Bild, RB Leipzig would much rather sell defender Dayot Upamecano during the summer transfer window than risk him leaving on a free transfer upon his contract expiring in June 2021.
At this stage it seems like just a matter of time before Upamecano decides to leave Germany in favour of a new challenge, and if that’s really the case, Leipzig need to take advantage and lure in the kind of offer that will ensure they can reinvest after he’s gone.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are the frontrunners in the race for his signature, and while other clubs across Europe will undoubtedly want to make a move, the Premier League seems like his most likely destination.
While Upamecano hasn’t been on the best run of form lately, everyone is well aware of the potential he has. Now, it’s all about Leipzig finding the right offers.
