RB Leipzig still haven’t been given an answer as to the future of Timo Werner, according to Bild.
The Bundesliga side have apparently offered their star striker a lucrative new contract, but Werner is stalling on his decision which, as head coach Ralf Rangnick says, has to be “timely”. The factor that is keeping him in two minds is the reported interest from Bayern Munich, although he has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona, and even Real Madrid. A lot of it seems to hinge on the future of Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern is the only really logical choice if the 22-year-old wants a change in scenery and yet remain in Germany. On the other hand, at Liverpool he would be reunited with former Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita and managed by compatriot Jurgen Klopp. Barcelona have solved the problem of a backup option for Luis Suarez by signing Kevin Prince Boateng, though the role of his long-term successor remains up for grabs. Real are still struggling to compensate for the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rangnick told Bild that the end of the season is as far as the patience of the club will hold, and they must have a decision by then.
