Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon is ready to raid his former club Celtic in an attempt to sign Kris Commons, according to the Mail Online.
Since moving to Glasgow in January 2011, the midfielder has made one hundred and seventy-one appearances in all competitions, scoring seventy-two goals and has been part of the squads that have won three consecutive Scottish championships and to Scottish cups – the entire haul coming under Lennon’s stewardship.
However, he has started just seven league matches under Ronny Deila and is considering his options ahead of next month’s opening of the transfer window.
The former Nottingham Forest and Derby County man is undergoing talks over a new deal at Parkhead, but seems increasingly unlikely remain at the club beyond the summer.
Bolton slipped to fifteenth place in the Championship after yesterday’s defeat at Huddersfield Town leaving them eleven points off a play-off position, and they can now be backed at 33/1 to achieve promotion.
