Celtic manager Neil Lennon says his side will be doing everything they can to pull themselves back into the Scottish Premier League title race.
The Glasgow giants headed into Saturday’s clash with Kilmarnock 10 points behind bitter rivals Rangers, and looked like slipping further behind when Kilmarnock led 3-0 with 20 minutes remaining at Rugby Park.
But a late brace from Anthony Stokes and a goal from Charlie Mulgrew helped Lennon’s side claim a point, and when St Mirren snatched a 95th-minute equaliser against Rangers at Ibrox, there was no further damage done.
Despite the fightback, Lennon said he still had much work to do with his team.
“I’ll turn it round. We will turn it round,” he told the BBC.
“We’re not giving up – we’ll just keep going and try to find a consistent run of wins.”
“We’ll have to turn it round very quickly. You can see that there’s talent in the team and belief in the team, but we have to stop giving away silly goals.”
After some woeful defending in the first-half, Lennon said he had been proud of the way his men responded.
“At 3-0, I said to the players at half-time that we were shaming the club at the moment and they had to go out and show some pride in the shirt,” Lennon said.
“Once we got the goal, we always believed we could come back.”
“The players believed it as well. I’m very proud of the second half and disgusted with the first.”
“I’m angry and proud of them at the same time. Our defending was abysmal in the first half.”
