According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the impending arrival of Bernd Leno at the Emirates could force Petr Cech to leave Arsenal. The Czech goalkeeper has been playing in North London for three years now since making the switch over from rivals Chelsea, and in that time he’s certainly had a mixed career under Arsene Wenger. While he’s certainly an all-time great in the Premier League he hasn’t quite been able to re-capture the historic form he enjoyed with the Blues, and at the age of 36, it seems as if new manager Unai Emery is investing in the future.
The report suggests that Napoli, who pushed Juventus all the way in the Serie A title race last season, would be the most likely destination for Cech in what would likely be the final move of his career. Arsenal’s announcement of Bernd Leno’s switch from Bayer Leverkusen is expected to be announced imminently.
