Smelling a real chance on home soil this weekend, Bayer Leverkusen will welcome Union Berlin to the BayArena on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Bayer Leverkusen would have been disappointed to have had to settle for a point away at Werder Bremen last time out, interim boss Hannes Wolf finds his side still sat in pole position to clinch a European finish. Managing to prove that their 2-0 defeat against Bayern Munich last month was just a minor blip, The Blacks have continued to impress on home soil. Winning each of their last three Bundesliga contests at the Bay Arena, including a 3-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt last time out in Leverkusen, it’s well worth keeping an eye out for Leon Bailey this weekend. Continuing to be linked with a potential Premier League move this summer, the Jamaica international has really caught the eye this season. Racking up 15 goals so far this campaign, the 23-year-old has also bagged five strikes in his last seven Bundesliga home fixtures.

As for the visitors, continuing to show some glaring inconsistencies throughout the second-half of the campaign, Union Berlin could still be rocked by a worrying display last time out. Last seen getting hit with what turned into a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Wolfsburg, Urs Fischer’s men have seen their outside European dreams really go up in smoke. Facing what could be a stern test on the road this weekend, Die Eisernen have also gained a reputation for their issues outside of Berlin. Including that thumping defeat at the Volkswagen Arena last week, The Reds have mustered just a pair of points from their last five away fixtures, a run highlighted by a 5-2 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt back in March. With just a single win away from the Stadion An der Alten Försterei since January 2nd, Bailey and co should be confident of extending on their eye-catching home record.
