According to Kicker, Leon Bailey is set to commit his international future to Jamaica. There’s been a great deal of speculation over who he will end up representing at a senior level, given that he has English grandparents but is also able to represent Germany and Belgium – such is the nature of international football. Alas, now that he’s been named in the Jamaica squad for the game against Bonaire, it’s all but been confirmed that it’ll be Jamaica he’s representing.
The Bayer Leverkusen winger has been on fire as of late, and seems to keep getting better and better as the weeks go on. At the age of 21 he’s still got plenty of time to grow and improve, with a move to an even bigger European club being viewed as incredibly likely by many.
Bailey joined Leverkusen last year, making the move over from Belgian club Genk for a fee of around €20 million.
