Leon Goretzka on Real Madrid radar

Schalke hotshot Leon Goretzka has emerged as a target for mighty Real Madrid, according to Don Balon.

The 22-year-old has shown a great deal of potential since joining from Bochum four years ago, with Bayern Munich reportedly determined to bring him to Allianz Arena.

However, Don Balon claims that Real Madrid have joined the chase as well, having been impressed with the midfielder’s performances at the 2017 Confederations Cup.

Goretzka shone in Russia, scoring three goals on the road to the trophy, and he clearly put himself in the shop window with some excellent performances.

With just one year left on his deal, Schalke will have no option but to sell this summer, although judging by the heavy interest, they have the opportunity to secure a very good deal.
