Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti is set to undergo a medical ahead of a January move to Napoli, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
The Azzurri have had a €16 million proposal accepted by their Serie A rivals, while the Rossoblu will be entitled to another €2 million if the striker scores 10 goals or more in all competitions until the end of the season.
Pavoletti arrives at Stadio San Paolo as a replacement for Manolo Gabbiadini, who will soon leave the club.
Napoli had looked at a number of high-profile attackers, but ultimately decided to go with the Italy international, who is expected to slot straight into the starting line-up, at least until Arkadiusz Milik returns from injury.
Pavoletti has enjoyed several successive campaigns with Genoa, bagging 23 goals in 44 Serie A outings.
The 28-year-old has yet to be handed his Italy debut, although he has watched three Azzurri games from the substitutes bench.
