Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has expressed his desire to leave Etihad, reports Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old has started three of four Premier League matches for the Citizens this term as Matija Nastasic and Vincent Kompany have been struggling through injury, but that did not persuade him to change his mind about leaving.
Lescott has held talks with boss Manuel Pellegrini and sporting director Txiki Begiristain recently, and having been informed that he is behind Kompany and Nastasic in the pecking order, the England international has decided to quit Eastlands.
Seeing as how he won’t be signing an extension to the contract that expires at the end of the current campaign, the experienced defender could easily be moving clubs in January.
His former club Everton are reportedly keen, while few other Premier League sides are likely to join the chase for the player who has featured in 213 Premiership matches, scoring 21 goals.
