Bundesliga sides Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke are considering summer bids for Sporting Lisbon full-back Cedric Soares, according to A Bola.
The German-born defender has long ago caught the eye of top European clubs and the Lions have a real battle on their hands to keep hold of their prized possession.
And while Sporting Lisbon officials are working hard to persuade the 23-year-old to extend his stay at Estadio Jose Alvalade, the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke are already drafting official proposals.
Namely, with Cedric’s current deal due to expire in just over a year, the two Bundesliga sides believe this is the right time to make their interest concrete.
The right-sided defender is another impressive product of Sporting’s youth academy and he has so far amassed 61 league appearances.
Cedric has earned just two Portugal caps, but he did start the Euro 2016 qualifier against Denmark under new coach Fernando Santos.
