Bayer Leverkusen are close to completing a deal to sign Hernanes and Mauricio Isla from Juventus, according to Il Messagero.
The Brazilian midfielder is expected to leave the Bianconeri this summer and Benfica recently submitted an official proposal for his services.
However, Il Messagero claims that Hernanes prefers a move to Bayer Leverkusen, who are set to wrap up an €8.5 million deal for his services.
At the same time, die Werkself hope to recruit his teammate Mauricio Isla, who has also been nearing the exit door.
They will have to pay another €4 million for the Chilean full-back, and Juventus are unlikely to stand in the player’s way of leaving the club.
Hernanes, 31, only joined the Bianconeri from Inter Milan last summer, and he went on to make 22 league appearances for the Italian champions.
Meanwhile, Isla spent the previous season on loan with Marseille, featuring in each of 38 Ligue 1 games.
