Goals from Gonzalo Castro and Stefan Kiessling have given Bayer Leverkusen victory in their second friendly of the 2013/14 preseason.
Leverkusen defeated Bochum 2-0 at rewirpowerSTADION on Saturday with Castro and Kiessling both scoring before half-time, while Borussia Dortmund began their preseason campaign with a 9-1 thumping of a local media team.
In Bochum, Leverkusen backed up from 4-1 win away to Schwarz-Weiss Essen last week to triumph over the home side, who will play in Bundesliga 2 in the upcoming season.
Castro scored just before the half-hour mark, while Kiessling hit the back of the net with five minutes remaining before half-time.
At Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park, new signings Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were introduced to the home fans, while the hosts cruised past a team representing German television channel SAT .1’s football show ‘Helden am Ball’.
Ilkay Gundogan and teenage forward Marvin Ducksch both notched braces for Dortmund as they recovered from conceding a shock equaliser in the seventh minute to win by eight goals.
