The agent of Saint Etienne forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has moved to confirm reports that Bayer Leverkusen are keeping close tabs on his client.
Aubameyang is likely to be one of the hottest commodities in the summer transfer window and it is perfectly clear les Verts will not be able to keep hold of him.
The likes of AC Milan, Fiorentina, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter are all believed to be interested, but the player’s representative admits Bayer Leverkusen have joined the race as well.
“Leverkusen are back in the race,” agent Oscar Damiani confessed to Bild. “Paris Saint-Germain is an option, and we are waiting for a concrete offer.”
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came through the youth ranks at AC Milan, and he enjoyed loan spells with Dijon, Lille and Monaco before joining Saint Etienne on a permanent deal.
The 23-year-old has largely impressed at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, scoring 37 goals in 87 league matches for les Verts.
He has been in excellent form this season, managing 19 goals in 37 Ligue 1 fixtures.
