Leverkusen join race for Cedric; Ajax eyeing Tommy Oar

hot-transfer-newsLeverkusen join race for Cedric

Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen are keeping close tabs on Sporting Lisbon defender Cedric Soares, according to Kicker.

Die Werkself coach Roger Schmidt already has Guilio Donati and Roberto Hilbert at his disposal, while Roma loanee Tim Jedvaj is also capable of playing at right-back.

However, it would appear as though he is not entirely satisfied with his current options, having shown interest in Sporting’s Cedric Soares.

Bayer Leverkusen officials took advantage of Schalke’s Champions League clash against the Lions to make a check on their target and they could step up their interest in January.

Cedric, who is also on the radar of the Miners, has less than two years left on his deal at Estadio Jose Alvalade.

The interesting thing is that the 23-year-old was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and hinted in the past that a move to Bundesliga would appeal to him.

Ajax eyeing Tommy Oar

Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax are readying bid for Utrecht starlet Tommy Oar, Utrecht TV has suggested.

The Amsterdammers could stay without star player Lasse Schone in the near future and they see the Australian winger as a perfect long-term replacement.

Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars is a big fan of the 22-year-old footballer and he hopes to bring him to Amsterdam ArenA at the earliest opportunity.

The good news is that Tommy Oar will be out of contract in the summer and he is unlikely to sign a new deal before he hears what Ajax has to offer.

The Australia international has spent last four years at Utrecht, and has managed 4 goals and 21 assists in 93 Eredivisie outings.

After failing to win their last two league fixtures, Ajax can be backed at 2/9 to see off Go Ahead Eagles at their Amsterdam ArenA.

Brazilian defender linked with La Liga switch

O Jogo has learned that Spanish side Granada are set to reignite their interest in Sporting Braga defender Aderlan Santos.

Los Rojiblancos had a €5 million bid rejected for the Brazilian back in July, but they have rekindled their interest ahead of the winter transfer window.

Granada officials plan to watch the 25-year-old in action in weekend’s clash against Benfica, when he will be up against some high-quality attackers.

Aderlan Santos arrived in Portugal in 2010, joining CD Trofense and he moved to Sporting Braga on a free transfer two years back.

After spending some time in the B squad, the centre-back nailed down a regular starting berth in the senior side and went on to feature in 40 league matches, scoring 4 goals.

Having proved his worth in Portugal’s top flight, Santos appears ready to embark on a new challenge in his career.
