German media outlet Bild has learned that Bayer Leverkusen are on the verge of signing Austrian defender Aleksandar Dragovic from Dynamo Kiev.
Die Werkself are set to earn €15 million from the sale of midfielder Christoph Kramer to Borussia M’gladbach, and they have decided to quickly reinvest the money.
According to Bild, Leverkusen have agreed a €15 million deal with Dynamo Kiev for defender Aleksandar Dragovic, who should replace Omer Toprak at Bay Arena.
The Austria star has long been on club’s radar and even though the Ukrainians had initially requested €20 million for his services, they eventually found an agreement with the Bundesliga side.
Aleksandar Dragovic began his professional career at Austria Wien and he also represented FC Basel before joining Dynamo Kiev three years ago.
The 25-year-old started all 10 games as Austria secured their place at the Euro 2016 finals, and he should have an important role to play in France.
