Bayer Leverkusen have announced the signing of Gornik Zabrze striker Arkadiusz Milik.
Milik, 18, has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with Bay Arena outfit and will join the squad for a winter training camp in Portugal on 3rd January.
The Polish striker watched his new teammates in the 3-0 victory over Hamburger SV on Saturday and was delighted with the new step in his career.
“The match confirmed I made the right decision. It was a great experience. The performance on the pitch was outstanding and the atmosphere at the stadium was fantastic,“ the youngster told club’s official website.
Milik was also wanted by Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund, but Bayer Leverkusen managed to win the race for the player’s signature.
“We have signed Arkadiusz Milik in the face of stiff domestic and international competition,” said Bayer Leverkusen managing director Wolfgang Holzhäuser.
“He has already made great progress despite being so young. But we are fully convinced this player can and will develop even further here.”
Despite his fragile age, Arkadiusz Milik has already scored 11 league goals for Gornik Zabrze in a total of 38 appearances.
The 18-year-old has made 4 appearances for Poland national team and was on the scoresheet as his side beat FYR Macedonia last Friday.
