German newspaper Bild is reporting that Bayer Leverkusen defender Daniel Schwaab is set to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.
The 24-year-old’s contract at Bay Arena is due to expire in June, meaning he can already negotiate a Bosman deal with one of the interested clubs.
Die Werkself have offered him a new contract, but Schwaab plans to join a club where he would be considered a first team regular.
Bundesliga high-flyers Eintracht Frankfurt are prepared to offer the defender an escape route from Bay Arena, with boss Armin Veh determined to beat off competition for the highly rated footballer.
Daniel Schwaab has been used as a central and right defender this term, but he is also adept at playing as a holding midfielder, and it is this versatility that is his biggest trait.
Schwaab has only made 11 Bundesliga appearances this season, but is, nonetheless, still held in high regard by a number of Germany’s top flight sides.
