Bayer Leverkusen are apparently adamant about not parting ways with Kevin Volland. According to Sky in Germany, they are prepared to turn down any offers for the forward that come their way this winter.
Volland has bagged seven goals and laid on as many assists in 25 games in all competitions this season, quite decent numbers, but his contract is set to expire in 18 months. Arsenal have lately been linked with him, as they possibly contemplate future without captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and look to bolster their options upfront. However, they will not be too thrilled with the news coming from the BayArena, as the Bundesliga club wish to build a team to suit their vice-captain.
At the age of 27, Volland’s value is likely to decrease with time, especially if he is allowed to enter the final year of his contract when the season ends. To safeguard against that, Leverkusen will have to either get him to sign a new deal, or put a price-tag on him very soon.
