According to ESPN, Robert Lewandowski looks as though he will stay at Borussia Dortmund this season despite speculation linking him away from the club.
The 24-year-old still has two years left on his current deal at Dortmund and has had some big European teams keeping tabs on him.
It seemed as though Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus and Bayern Munich were all interested in the Polish striker.
However, Lewandowski has stated that he is not bothered by this talk of a move: “I am not interested in the speculation surrounding me. I am not interested in the speculation surrounding me.” He said.
This is sure to please Dortmund fans who will be desperate for him to stay as they look to do the domestic double again this season.
The Bundesliga champions will also want to reach the latter stages of the Champions League.
However, if one of these clubs does make an official approach for Lewandowski, then the situation could change – especially if they come in with a big money offer.
Dortmund would of course be reluctant to sell to Bayern, as they are a big rival in the league to them.
With Manchester United looking as though they will sign Robin Van Persie, it could then be a straight battle between Juventus and Chelsea.
We shall see.
