Robert Lewandowski says Borussia Dortmund deserved their 1-0 Bundesliga win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The Poland international netted the only goal of the game at the Westfalenstadion to help the reigning champions to all three points, and Lewandowski was happy with his 20th league goal of the season.
“It was a difficult game, but I think it was a deserved win. We are six points ahead of Bayern and we have to keep on playing like this,” Lewandowski told the Dortmund website.
“I’m happy about my goal, but I also hit the post and the bar. That’s a bit annoying. I was at the right place at the right time, but what’s important is that we won and picked up another three points.”
Dortmund are back in Bundesliga action on Saturday when they visit fierce local rivals Schalke.
