According to Fabrizio Romano, Robert Lewandowski is prepared to remain at Bayern Munich past this summer but only if he gets an extension on his current contract, which expires in 2023.
The Poland international has been one of the best strikers in the world for a number of years, and his contribution at Bayern can hardly be put into words, but his 337 goals and 69 assists in 365 matches in all competitions paint quite a picture in that aspect. At the age of 33, it’s perfectly normal for him to be worried about his future and crave some security regarding a place at a top club for a couple of years more.
However, Bayern still haven’t initiated any talks on the subject with Lewandowski or Pini Zahavi, his representative. Lewandowski is waiting, and if no offer of a new contract arrives, he’s likely to ask to be allowed to leave at the end of this season.
