Argentinian giants Boca Juniors were held to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores Round of Sixteen clash with Defensor Sporting of Uruguay.

Former Villarreal player Martin Palermo put Boca in the lead after just three minutes, but Pablo Gaglianone allowed the home crowd to celebrate the equaliser just before half time.

Boca’s Rodrigo Palacio restored his side’s lead twelve minutes after the interval but with just five minutes to go, it was Rodrigo Mora to set the score to 2-2, the final result.

The second leg will be played at Boca’s famous Bombonera stadium in Buenos Aires on May 21st.
