(GSM) – Uruguayan side Nacional Montevideo beat Deportivo Cuenca of Ecuador 3-2 in their Copa Libertadores Group 6 clash on Thursday.

Things began well for the visiting side as Jose Granda scored the opening goal after 25 minutes but Mario Regueiro delivered the equaliser in the first minute after the break.

The forward went on to add a second in the 65th minute, but had that goal cancelled out by Argentinian Luis Escalada just three minutes later.

The winning goal came at five minutes from the end however and allowed Nacional to secure the three points, as Cuenca’s Oscar Morales directed the ball past his own goalkeeper for 3-2.

Nacional now lead Group 6, which further consists of Banfield of Argentina and Morelia of Mexico.
