Lichtsteiner nears Juventus exit; Manchester United eyeing Wolfsburg hotshot

hot-transfer-newsLichtsteiner nears Juventus exit

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has learned that Swiss defender Stephan Lichtsteiner is expected to leave Juventus at the end of the season.

The highly rated footballer will be out of contract in the summer, and while he is ready to remain in Turin, the reality is he is unlikely to be signing a new deal.

While Lichtsteiner’s agents are requesting for a €3 million yearly wage, Juventus officials are clearly not ready to meet their demands, meaning the player is nearing a move away from the club.

Even if the Bianconeri could sell the Switzerland international in January to avoid losing him on a free transfer, they will probably resist the temptation to do so considering that the 30-year-old is integral to Max Allegri’s plans.

Paris Saint-Germain appear to be leading the chase for his signature, but few more top sides are expected to join the race.

Stephan Lichtsteiner has largely impressed since joining the Bianconeri from Lazio, making 94 Serie A appearances and scoring 9 goals in the process.

Manchester United eyeing Wolfsburg hotshot

Manchester United are being linked with a January move for Wolfsburg star Ricardo Rodriguez, German magazine Kicker can reveal.

The Red Devils have signed three left-sided defenders this summer, but while Daley Blind is used in midfield, Louis van Gaal is thought to have been less than impressed with Luke Shaw.

As a result, the Dutch coach could be making a move on summer target Ricardo Rodriguez, arguably one of world’s most talented defenders.

After failing to lure the Switzerland international to Old Trafford in the summer, the Red Devils are expected to reignite their interest in January, especially seeing as how the 22-year-old has less than two years left on his contract.

Despite playing at left-back, Rodriguez managed impressive 5 goals and 9 assists in 34 Bundesliga outings last term, while he has already bagged two goals in the new campaign.

The youngster has long ago nailed down a regular starting berth in the national team and made four starts for Switzerland at the 2014 World Cup.

Lloris refuse to commit future to Tottenham

Despite recently signing a new long-term contract, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris does not know whether he will be staying at White Hart Lane for much longer.

The France number one joined Spurs hoping to taste Champions League football, but the team have struggled to mount a serious top 4 challenge of late.

And even if he only signed a new five-year deal in July, Lloris is not prepared to pledge his long-term future to the club.

Asked if his future at Tottenham depend on the Spurs qualifying for the Champions League, the goalkeeper replied:

“I don’t know. I’m not thinking about that. I am just focused on my work and the club and I hope we can have a good reward at the end of the season.

“But nobody knows about the future of the club. Of course, it is a big motivation to be back in the Champions League with Tottenham.”

Lloris, 27, swapped Lyon for Spurs two years ago and has since made a total of 69 Premier League appearances for the club.
