Lichtsteiner wants Juventus stay

Swiss defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has said in no uncertain terms that he plans to remain at Juventus for the foreseeable future.

The 29-year-old has largely impressed since arriving from Lazio, but he was linked with a move away from the club last summer.

Nevertheless, he has remained an important player for the Bianconeri and has now admitted that he is on the verge of committing his long-term future to the club.

“Regarding the new contract everything is clear. I have won two league titles here and I feel fine,” Lichtsteiner told reporters while attending a promotional event.

The highly rated full-back joined the Bianconeri two years ago and he has been an integral part of the team that won back to back Serie A titles.

Lichtsteiner has made a total of 66 Serie A appearances for the Old Lady, scoring 6 goals in the process.

The Switzerland international should be in the starting line-up when Juventus play Chievo away on Wednesday, with the Bianconeri 4/9 to claim maximum points.
