Uniao de Leiria continued their slide down the Portuguese Liga Sagres table with a 0-0 draw at Academica de Coimbra on Friday.

Leiria, who have won just one of their past seven games in the Portuguese top-flight, remain seventh with the point but could fall as far as ninth once the weekend’s matches have been played out.

It is a far cry from their late-2010 form, where Leiria climbed up the table with an unbeaten run through November and December.

Academica improve to 11th and 24 points following the draw, though they will sweat on the result of Rio Ave’s trip to Maritimo on Sunday, with either club able to overtake Academica with a win.
