There were no goals despite plenty of chances as Beira-Mar were held 0-0 by Vitoria Setubal in Monday’s Liga Sagres fixture.
Both sides had repeated chances to steal a result in an end-to-end encounter played at a frenetic pace.
But both defences ultimately held firm under duress, though spectators could hardly have complained for want of action.
Beira-Mar went closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half, with Setubal needing a goal-line clearance to avoid going into the half-time break in arrears.
Brazilian striker William had a chance to open his league goal account in the 70th minute but headed straight at Rui Rego in the Beira-Mar goals, while Libyan midfielder Djamal Bindi was among those to go close for the home side.
The result does little for either side’s league position, with Beira-Mar remaining in 10th and Setubal climbing one place to 13th on the table.
