Braga produced a strong second half to beat Vitoria Guimaraes 3-1 and move into third spot on the Liga Sagres table.
It took until the 62nd minute for the hosts to break the deadlock on Monday, but a goal two minutes later and another one late on saw them move above Sporting Lisbon and into third.
The sixth-placed Vitoria Guimaraes scored a consolation penalty in stoppage time, but are now winless in their last seven outings.
Defender Paulao broke the deadlock just after the hour mark when he was left free to nod in at the back post.
Two minutes later the home side doubled their advantage courtesy of a majestic strike from Ukra.
The attacker cut in from the left hand side and unleashed a powerful drive past Nilson from the edge of the area.
Substitute Alan completed the period of dominance 13 minutes from time when he rose highest to head home a corner.
The visitors pulled one back in stoppage time when substitute Edgar Silva sent keeper Artur the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Despite their recent run of poor form, Vitoria Guimaraes are still within reach of a Europa League spot, one point adrift of fifth-placed Nacional.
Sporting Braga have all but guaranteed their spot by moving into third, now nine points clear of today’s defeated opponents.
