Porto beat Naval de Maio 3-1 on Sunday to remain eight points clear of Benfica in the Portuguese Liga Sagres.
Radamel Falcao put Porto ahead in the 44th minute at Estadio do Dragao, before a goal either side of half-time from Brazilian Hulk put the hosts firmly in command.
Naval netted a consolation goal through Kevin Gomis’ 88th minute penalty.
Defeat leaves Naval bottom of the league, while Porto remain eight points ahead of Benfica, who won 1-0 away to Academica de Coimbra.
Argentina striker Javier Saviola netted the game’s only goal in the 19th minutes at the Estadio Cidade de Coimbra.
Senegalese defender Pape Sow received a red card on 36 minutes and both teams finished the match with 10 men after Fabio Coentrao committed a second bookable offence in the 90th minute.
Nacional climbed to fifth following a 1-0 win at home to Rio Ave.
Diego scored the winner for the hosts with 18 minutes to go at the Estadio da Madeira.
Beira-Mar beat Uniao de Leiria 3-0 to draw level on points with seventh-placed Braga.
Ronny put the away side in front in the 16th minute at Estadio Dr. Magalhaes Pessoa, before Artur made it two with 15 minutes to go.
Chinese forward Gang Wang completed the scoring in the 88th minute.
Maritimo moved up to ninth with a 4-2 win away to Vitoria Setubal.
Sidnei had Maritimo ahead on 25 minutes at the Estadio do Bonfim, but Claudio Pitbull equalised for the hosts 10 minutes later.
A brace inside five minutes from Papa Diawara put Maritimo 3-1 up, before Joao Guilherme made it four to secure the points with 15 minutes remaining.
Pitbull grabbed a consolation second goal in the 84th minute.
