Zlatan Ibrahimovic put any lingering doubts over his fitness to bed as he inspired Paris Saint Germain to a 2-1 victory over Nantes.

Laurent Blanc’s side fell behind in the eighth minute at the Parc des Princes as Alejandro Bedoya found the top-right corner with a stunning 25-yard drive.

However, Ibrahimovic, who has been hampered by a persistent heel injury for the majority of the campaign, took his league tally for the season to eight goals with two well-taken strikes.

Ibrahimovic’s first came from a Lucas Moura cross after 34 minutes, the 33-year-old getting in front of his marker to prod home past Remy Riou.

And the towering forward completed PSG’s comeback three minutes into the second period with a thunderous free-kick to lift the champions to the top of the Ligue 1 table, although Marseille could reassume that position by beating Metz on Sunday.

Montpellier ended Stade Rennes’ four-match winning streak in emphatic style with a superb 4-0 triumph at the Stade de la Route de Lorient.

Jonas Martin, Morgan Sanson, Lucas Barrios and Anthony Mounier ensured a surprise success for Rolland Courbis’ side versus a Rennes team that had previously not lost a home fixture since a 3-0 reverse against Toulouse in September.

Meanwhile, Bordeaux twice came from behind at home against lowly Lorient to move into fourth place, with Cheick Diabate’s quick-fire second-half double ensuring that Willy Sagnol’s maintained their unbeaten home record in 2014-15.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel’s 58th minute strike was enough for Saint Etienne to overcome bottom club Bastia 1-0 at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, a result that sees the 10-time French champions up to third.

Elsewhere, second bottom Caen slumped to their ninth league defeat of the season as Nice claimed a 3-2 away win in Normandy.
