Ligue 1 star drops Premier League hint

Montpellier defender Emir Spahic has revealed that he plans to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Bosnian defender has became an integral part of Rene Girard’s squad immediately after arriving from Lokomotiv Moscow in June 2009.

However, the 30-year-old has since become unsettled in France and admits he will be looking to leave the club in the summer.

“I will leave France this summer because it has become difficult to stay,” Spahic told Le Parisien.

“Even though I am a professional under contract at Montpellier, where people are supporting me, I will be playing in a different country next season.

“My preference would be England, but there have been other contacts.”
