The top two in Ligue 1 both dropped points on Saturday, as leaders Paris Saint-Germain drew with Caen and Montpellier lost at Nancy.

PSG trailed twice in their match at the Stade Michel-d’Ornano.

Pierre-Alain Frau put hosts Caen ahead in the 54th minute, slotting home from close range after PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu kept out his first attempt.

The lead lasted less than two minutes, before Argentina international Javier Pastore netted the equaliser for PSG, also on the rebound.

Thomas Heurtaux put Caen back in front when he beat Brazilian defender Alex to a header in the 70th minute.

The home side looked set to record an unlikely upset, before Christophe Jallet netted a last-minute equaliser to salvage a point for PSG.

Also on Saturday, nine-man Montpellier went down 1-0 away to Nancy.

The away side lost Vitorino Hilton to a straight red card when he committed a professional foul on Djamel Bakar three minutes before half-time at the Stade Marcel Picot.

And Montpellier went down to nine men in the 59th minute, when Benjamin Stambouli saw red for bringing down Bakar inside the area.

Andre Luiz dispatched the resulting spot-kick to earn his team all three points.

A day of upsets continued at the Stade Velodrome, where Marseille gave up the lead to lose 2-1 at home to Dijon.

Didier Deschamps’ hosts went in front through a Loic Remy penalty in the 10th minute, but Dijon levelled through Younousse Sankhare.

With 12 minutes remaining, Nicolas N’Koulou received his marching orders for fouling Koro Issa Kone in the box.

On-loan Chelsea player Gael Kakuta converted from the penalty spot to earn Dijon an important victory.

In other matches, Bafetimbi Gomis’ late strike was enough for Lyon to defeat local rivals St Etienne 1-0 in the Rhone derby.

Lorient came from behind to beat Brest 2-1, thanks to second-half goals from Bruno Ecuele Manga and Kevin Monnet-Paquet.

Yoann Poulard’s 93rd-minute equaliser saw Ajaccio snatch a 1-1 draw at Bordeaux.

And Evian overcame strugglers Auxerre 2-0 away from home, courtesy of strikes from Thomas Kahlenberg and Kevin Berigaud.
