Lyon moved into the Ligue 1 Champions League qualifying spot and put a dent in Marseille’s title aspirations with a 3-2 win on Sunday.

League leaders Lille extended their lead on top to four points with a 1-0 win over Nancy on Saturday and the buffer will remain after Marseille lost at the Stade de Gerland.

Goals from Argentine pair Lisandro Lopez and Cesar Delgado had given Lyon a 2-0 lead after 69 minutes before Didier Deschamps’ team fought back.

Luis Gonzalez struck a minute after they conceded their second and Loic Remy bundled in a cross from Andre Gignac to complete a fine comeback.

But Lyon would find an 84th-minute winner through Brazilian defender Cris, who volleyed home a loose ball to send his team above PSG and into third with four games remaining.

Elsewhere, Valenciennes shot clear of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over the out-of-form Stade Rennes.

Midfielders Foued Kadir and Gael Danic netted in each half as Philippe Montanier’s team went four points clear of 18th-placed Nancy.

Stade Rennes remain fifth despite being winless in their last eight outings.
