Nancy, Caen and Monaco all recorded valuable wins to help better their survival prospects in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Nancy overcame Auxerre 3-1 at the Stade Marcel Picot, with Julien Feret, Alexandre Cuvillier and Youssouf Hadji all netting in the victory.
Monaco beat Lorient 3-1 at the Stade Louis II, after they went ahead in the third minute via Igor Lolo.
Kevin Gameiro equalised for the visitors in the 22nd minute, but second-half strikes to Thomas Mangani and Chu-Young Park – the latter from the spot – sealed three points for Monaco, though they are still one point from safety.
Caen stole victory at the Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas over Bordeaux, netting a 2-1 victory in the dying stages.
The promoted club went ahead on 10 minutes through Kandia Traore but were pegged back by an Anthony Modeste goal from the hosts.
Romain Hamouma scored the winner for Caen in the 90th minute to move them three points clear of the drop zone.
Marseille moved to within three points of league-leaders Lille with a 2-1 triumph over Sochaux.
An Andre Pierre Gignac brace saw the visitors at Stade Auguste Bonal recover from a goal down to take all three points.
Third-placed Paris Saint-Germain were held to a 0-0 draw by Lens, while Arles’ clash with Montpellier also went goalless.
